Why Would Someone Be Denied Life Insurance?

There are several reasons an applicant for life insurance coverage would be denied life insurance.

The most common reason people are denied life insurance is medical issues, which make the risk of insuring you for the life insurance company too great.

In addition, you may be denied life insurance due to your age, if you are over a certain age, such as, over age 85, you may find it very difficult to qualify for life insurance.

Also, lifestyle issues and activities like high-risk jobs, dangerous recreational activities and hobbies, multiple motor vehicle violations or accidents, DUIs and drug or alcohol addictions present a higher risk for life insurance companies which some may not be willing to insure.

Also, lying on the application for life insurance coverage, misleading or omitting material facts can also result in a declination for life insurance coverage.

If you lie on the application for life insurance about a material fact which would otherwise result in you not being able to get life insurance, the insurance carrier will likely decline you for coverage.

However, if you are declined for life insurance you may still be able to qualify for guaranteed issue life insurance protection.
